How to read a paper
·If the paper is related to your topic :
1) You can note what innovation it added
2) problem addressed
3) psychology behind it using its literature review
4) assumptions behind the work
5) keep the excel file so that you can get to the pattern\
If the paper is outside the topic :
1) understand your intention you are trying to apply a solution and see how it works with the problem
2) explain in one sentence what is the central idea or summarize the paper
3) write about the solution and what innovations it has brought compared to previous works (what problem it is addressing)
4) what is its relevance for your problem : even minute
5) Conceptual relevance
Can I transfer:
- assumptions
- problem formulation
- evaluation strategy
to my problem?
6) I would rename this section.
Instead of:
Platform for usage
I would write:
Transfer Opportunities
Ask:
Can this idea transfer through:
- Representation
- Temporal modeling
- Optimization
- Data augmentation
- Evaluation metric
- Problem formulation
